Gingersnap Stout Frosting Pie Recipe (pg. 84)

August 23, 2013

Guess what I'm doing today? I'm slinging you a freebie recipe from The Dollop Book of Frosting: Sweet and Savory Icings, Spreads, Meringues, and Ganaches for Dessert and Beyond! Why? Because I'm feeling generous! And because if you don't eat this pie at least once in your life you'll never know what true living really is. Also because my Grandma turns 89 today! Wowza! Happy Birthday, Grandma!proud grandma
Grandma, I know you're going to be like, "What's up with this Ginger-what-stout-who-frosting pie??" and "Why didn't you make your Grandma her favorite Chocolate Frosted Chocolate Cupcakes? You couldn't do that for your old Grandma? I'm old, you know."
And the truth is Grandma, I really think you'll love this pie! And I really want the Grandma Shirley Stamp-of-Approval on it. This Gingersnap Stout Frosting Pie is one of my favorite recipes in The Dollop Book of Frosting and not solely because it's a pie made out of frosting but also because it's super easy to make and well ok, it's a pie made out of frosting.

Alright, now how amazingly delicious and easy did that look? And here's a little secret... The pie I made in the video is GLUTEN-FREE. Yeah. Get excited my fellow GF friends! You can eat this! Just replace the stout with any kind of GF beer, get GF gingersnaps, and get ready to fill your piehole with some glorious pie.  What's your favorite type of pie?
