Why I Haven't Been Blogging (Because it's COLD)
March 06, 2014
Several people have confronted me recently about my lack of blogging.
Because if you haven’t noticed, I haven’t been blogging. Much.
I’ve attempted to. I’ve started to. I’ve written a few things here and there. But none of it was exactly coherent, passionate, or thought provoking.
And I’ll tell you why.
I’ve lived in Rochester, NY all my life; minus a six period timeframe that I randomly fell in love, moved to Charlotte, NC, and then not-so-randomly fell out of love, and moved back. So you would assume that by now, 30 years later, I would be acclimated to the cold, snow, and brutality of these upstate winters.
Well, I’m not. I’m emphatically
NOT.
This winter has killed me. I may look alive on the outside but on the inside I’m a pale, lumpy, disoriented mass of dead gray matter.
I can’t focus, I can’t think, and I certainly can’t get inspired.
Everywhere I go—cold. Everywhere I look—cold. Everything I do—cold.
I’ve become
mildly obsessed with the fact that it’s
cold.
And this, my friends, if why I haven’t been blogging. It’s not that I haven’t been working on exciting stuff… because I HAVE! Really exciting stuff.
But I’ve been too cold to even be excited about it.
Thankfully, next week this is alllll going to change. For one week, at least.
I’m so
freakin’ thankful that yesterday, with the assistance and accompaniment of my wonderful mother and the advisement of my late great grandmother (there’s a story there), I was able to book a last minute trip to bask in the warmth of sunshiny Florida (!!!!) next week where the sun shines, and the sun shines, and did I mention the sun shines??
So when I return on the 20
th feeling happy, bright, rested, and alive once again, you can expect my blog reawaken as well.
Till then, my friends!
Are you keeping alive this winter? Tell me HOW!
