The first time I spread the creamy contents of a jar of frosting all over the surface of a thinly rolled pizza crust, topped it with sliced peaches, sprinkled it with toasted coconut, drizzled it with caramel sauce, and tossed it on the grill, I swear I heard angels sing. There's nothing quite like discovering the magic of dessert pizza. If you've never made dessert pizza or even eaten it before, you're in for a real treat. As were the news anchors this morning on Good Day Rochester on Fox when I showed up toting three dessert pizzas for them to taste and fall in love with.
You see that Roasted Strawberry, Dark Chocolate, & Brie Pizza that Jennifer fell in love with? Yeah, you're definitely going to want to make that at home tonight.
Ingredients 1/2 pint fresh strawberries, quartered 1 teaspoon olive oil pinch salt 1/2 dark chocolate bar 1 small wedge Brie 1/2 ball pre made pizza dough To make the Roasted Strawberries Preheat oven to 375. Toss strawberries in olive oil and salt and roast in a baking pan for 20 minutes. To make the pizza 1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Roll out the dough on a floured service to desired thickness and shape. Once flattened, brush with olive oil and poke with a fork several times to release any air bubbles 2. Place slices of Brie on the flattened dough. Place broken pieces of the chocolate bar around the slices of Brie. Fill in gaps with the roasted strawberries. 3. Place on a pizza sheet and bake in oven 10 - 15 minutes or until dough and cheese begin to brown. Remove from oven and serve hot.
